JAGUAR XK 150 Stunning Restoration ...

This rather special Jaguar XK150 OTS has been treated to the most extensive restoration you are likely to find. The car has been completely stripped to the bare shell and rebuilt from scratch using the best materials and parts available. The car has also been upgraded to make it perfectly usable as a daily car should you wish. 


The car has undergone a total body off chassis restoration down to the last nut and bolt. All components have been either renewed or reconditioned. Numerous upgrades have been incorporated during the restoration. The upgrades were made on the basis of experience gained from years of jaguar ownership and technical support/developments by cmc (classic motor cars of Bridgnorth). 

The colour is gunmetal with red leather trim.


Body removed from chassis. The chassis was virtually corrosion free and only required the removal of various dents etc. After surface preparation the chassis was primed and painted. The body was restored to the highest standard using new panels where required. Lead loading was employed as per original. Particular attention was paid to obtaining perfect panel gaps. The car was painted inside and out to an exemplary standard.

All chrome work was re-plated to show standard. New supply chrome items were also re-plated to match. 

The original bumpers were retained,This required substantial work to remove years of small dents etc. But the finished result is far superior to the pattern items available.

The windscreen glass was renewed.

all fixtures and fittings were galvanised or powder coated as appropriate.


A full professional re-trim in red leather with matching carpet and mohair roof.

Period bucket seats were fitted for additional support  the seat runners were modified to give a larger range of adjustment and the seats have tilting backs to facilitate hood operation **Note these are not the flimsy repro items but genuine period items of high quality**.

The original steering wheel was refurbished and reduced in diameter at the same time.


The engine was fully rebuilt for cmc by vse. The rebuild was completed to cmc’s “high torque” specification giving a substantial increase in torque and power while retaining the flexibility of the xk engine. The xk head was machined to cmc specification to take larger valves and fitted with uprated camshafts.                      

The gearbox is a five speed Toyota supra unit supplied and fitted by cmc. 

The clutch has been upgraded to a modern diaphragm unit which was balanced to the crank. New clutch master and slave cylinders were fitted.

Upgraded Differential with a limited slip unit.


The carburettors were upgraded using professionally rebuilt 2” su’s (standard size is 1.75”). The xk inlet manifold was opened up and blended to the head and carburettors by cmc.  The air filters are free-flow items with stub stacks.

Cooling system

Rebuilt radiator with improved cooling capacity. Engine driven fan deleted. Electric fan with thermostatic control fitted. All hoses renewed and upgraded. 


 Front suspension geometry  modified to remove the xk150’s inherent bump steer. This modification has been developed by cmc and vastly improves the steering. The rear suspension was modified to reduce the rear-wheel steering effect by relocating the spring mounting points. New koni shock absorbers were fitted all round.

 Disc brakes all round the front brakes were upgraded with fosseway light alloy four piston brake callipers and the rear brakes are fitted with uprated jaguar calipers .

The brake pipes were renewed in copper. A new servo and new master cylinder etc. Have been fitted.

All suspension parts were plated or powder coated as required. As were all other fittings on the car.


New chrome wire wheels  fitted these are uprated to 6” width and competition laced to provide a stronger wheel. New Michelin pilote x tyres are fitted these are the best tyres for the xk (and the most expensive)

Electrical and ignition system

The car is re-wired using a complete new wiring harness (cotton braided). the charging system has been upgraded with a dynalite alternator (styled as per a dynamo). 

Upgraded high torque starter motor, 1,2,3 electronic ignition system.  SU electronic fuel pump unit. 

 Dashboard instruments were professionally restored and re-calibrated.
